ACTIVITY ‘AND WORKSHOPS FOR SCHOOLS

The workshops aim to promote education to the traditions and the culture and knowledge of local history and through various educational programs, through the game and the development of manual skills in common.
L’archeologia, conosciuta dai più nei suoi aspetti avventurosi o addirittura misteriosi, sar&Archaeology, known by the more adventurous in its aspects or even mysterious, will be presented in terms of the educational approach through experimental archeology workshops where will be played the daily life of the ancient world (with the same techniques used in the past). Understand the past, and especially the past of our country, basing this knowledge on manual activities, practices, which often turn into real game, is one of the most exciting and engaging to interest more young people to study and to “search “of ancient peoples and their way of life.

Our workshops are conducted by archaeologists and art historians qualified with experience in teaching and research in the field. Each laboratory can match the guided tour of Lecce and Castle of Charles V to split large groups into two parts. The workshops take place in the halls of the Castle of Charles V of Lecce.

In the laboratory, each boy will learn to observe the arms and can build their own heraldic emblem of the family or the class using creativity with symbols and various materials.

Through the projection of images of masterpieces of art history, participants will be shown the iconographic theme of the Nativity and the birth of the traditional crib. Specifically we will focus on local artisan tradition tied to the iconography sacred paper mache. As part of the creative workshop students will help to build a small crib wall reworking creatively what they have learned. The crib, which students take home, will be realized through the use of clay and tempera paints.
